Brioche French Toast

I have to start by saying I love Brioche bread, Its sweet, light fluffy. It would be great to just use slices of it, instead of pound cake, in a strawberry shortcake. I felt like dressing it up a little bit and using it for french toast.

4 Servings

Ingredients:

1 small brioche loaf (or half of a large loaf) sliced in thick slices
4 large eggs
1/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon granulated sugar

2 pounds of sliced strawberries

1 cup fresh whipping cream

I love Macrina Bakery's baked goods. You should check out their locations in the Seattle area,

Place the milk, eggs, vanilla, and sugar in a large bowl.

Whisk all ingredients.

Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat, sprayed with canola oil. Lightly dip the bread into the egg mixture. Be careful not to let the bread soak up too much liquid. Place in the heated pan.

Cook till lightly golden brown and then flip.

Serve with strawberries and whipped cream.
